ShenZhen - GoodBye

Overall, if you ask me whether I will going back to ShenZhen in the future?? I would said "Maybe".

But, I would love to travel to around China such as Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou and etc. I 'maybe" will like it.

I think for me who cant read chinese could be disadvantages. Now, I kind of got idea imagining myself travel to Japan or Korea and worst I cant speak their languages.

So, in the future need be more prepared. However, going to Shenzhen it wasnt my idea at all.

Since we gonna spent 1 week at ShenZhen and not idea about the environment. I think it is safe to booked more reasonable or more reputation hotel.

We only booked the rooms for 2 nights at Century Plaza Hotel. Well, it was freaking expensive and pretty much the same for all hotels surrounded.

Since got 2 days at city, so we also do some research and ask a few hotels which cheaper and of course need to check how`s the hotel.

Sometime we cant trust what even we see on internet and doesn't means it got room available anytime.

The end we changed our hotel to "Lushan hotel" which also a 4 stars hotel and a lot cheaper.

This time instead we booked 2 separated room, we actually booked one room with extra bedroom which also got kitchen, dining room and lounge.

view from our room window.

It got great view and can see the ShenZhen city.

Night view even better!!!

Anyway, we do have some great time and next time I hoping we should go to HongKong for a few days for real shopping!

I was too bored bcoz we still got 2 hours. ShenZhen airport too small just like Sibu airport. So hard to kill the time.

All I can do just look at the planes -___- to pass the time. sighhhhhhh now I wish to bring my magazines with me.

Also, I really regret when I was in primary school why I dont study Chinese but think again I can skip one year at school.

But still Malaysian - Chinese should know Chinese. sighhhh shamed on me!!!

I decided if I got my own kids I must force them study Chinese

Okay lastly,...if you ask me again what`s my impression or do you think about ShenZhen?

1) Smoke Zone

2) Rude people unless you dress like rich people, they will serve you like VIP -_-'

3) Dirty and poor hygiene

4) Taxi driver will speak coarse languages & spilling saliva in the middle of road.

5) Dont follow the LAWS - seriously people dont care about traffic lights. You can just cross the road whenever you want even the POLICE officer at the scene! TRUST ME!!! is true.

5) Rip Off culture

ShenZhen - Enjoy foods

I guess you guys must be sick of entries about places. So, this entry will talk about foods. Basically, when I`m traveling to ShenZhen I found out I dont take a lot pictures of foods. How`s unusual.

I think probably I wasnt feeling well most of the time and sometime I have to struggled to pretend "I`m fine" . Well, I learned my lesson when come to foods especially when on travel.

OKay,...since we stayed at Century Plaza Hotel, just next to it there a Cafe called " YONGHE King" & KFC restaurant which is 24 hours. Cool, How`s nice is that.

And almost everyday morning we went there for breakfast @ Yonghe King till become regular and the staff asked us to buy a vouchers which will better value for money.

We get free mug ahahah how`s cute is that!

I really enjoy all the meals at Yonghe King, it was so cheap and delicious. And the best thing about it the service good and fast to be served. ooooooooohhhh I another thing, the restaurant is very very clean.

I feel really comfortable and enjoy my meals. By the way, I love their signature Soy milk. It was freshly made. Another my favourite dish is beef noodles soup, & porridge!

You guys can visit their website : http://www.yonghe.com.cn

On other day, we decided to have western breakfast since we getting sick of Chinese foods. So, we to hotel for breakfast.

Usually, in the morning I`m big eater for breakfast. So, I ordered "American Breakfast" It cost me RMB$33.

Well, a bit disappointed because I was expecting more since it is 4- Stars hotel. However it does remind me "The coffee Club`s Breakfast"

"The coffee Club`s Breakfast" I think is AUS$15 something. (included tea + juice) The one I had at Sydney with my friend for Jay Chou Concert.

Okay next,.......

I went to this really cute cafe in shopping centre. We were so tired and went in for rest and ordered for drink.

Instead drink I ordered a soup, well it more like dessert because it sweet. It was papaya, lotus seed & white fungus.

This is how ShenZhen people serve ICe-Coffee. I think even some Hongkong cafe also do the same thing,

Opposite to Malaysia & Australia style of Ice-Coffee.

Next is my favourite fast-foods- KFC!!!!!

I was sooooooooooo curious and wanted to try KFC at China.

Againnnnn I`m having problem reading menu...T_T

wtf,...all in chinese words T_T

By the way, do you guys notice the different or missing????

KFC at CHINA dont have french fries (known at Malaysia) as for Australia we called "Chips"

How come?????? instead chip they sell corn and even got seafood burger.

Coleslaw (corn, carrot, celery) also different to Malaysia & Australia. Instead corn we used lettuce. Hmm, interesting~~~

Cost of RMB$59 = RM29.5 which I think pricey. We bought the value meals with peach ice drinks and they got limited edition BBQ chicken wings which I don't like it at all :S I think the Malay AYAM Bakar ( grilled chicken) lagi Bagus!!

ahahah that Classic~~~ KFC delivery using bike. What gonna happen if raining or snowing :S China country do have 4 seasons.

Next,.....is PIZZA HUT @ Knight Valley, CHINA

OMG!................OMG!!!!..............OMG!!!............ I got to tell you!

I really love China`s PIZZA HUT! They are the best compare to Malaysia & Australia.

TOO MANY variety on Menu till you could spend 1/2 hour to decided what to eat.

Potato salad

Deep fried calamari

chicken wings~~

4-in-One pizza ( curry meat, veg, pineapple, seafoods)

I really enjoy the pizza!

MANGO cheesecake !! with chocolate = Heaven!

okay the following are not related to Pizza Hut. We actually went to a few cafes for drinks because it was to bloody hot on Knight Valley trip.

Fruit salad.

Another fruit salad. I think because I ate too much fruit cause me diarrhea for whole day and went to toilet 5 times!

Goshhhhhh I will never even forget that time!

Lastly, picture of ourself at Pizza Hut restaurant.

Guys, if you go to china must try PIZZA HUT there1 Trust me you gonna love it.

Or if you so curious you can check the website www.pizzahut.com.cn

ShenZhen - Huaqiangbei (华强北)

We also went to Hua qiang bei district. This place is like "Heaven" for a guy shopping place.

The whole area lined with wholesale stores, departments or even whole building selling electronics devices such as mobiles, cameras, computers, laptops, home wares and etc. YOU NAME IT lahhhh!

We were really exciting and looking forward for camera shopping.

Interactive screen about ads for tourists. I was enjoy playing with the touch screen while Ray chated with taxi driver about Huaqiangbei (华强北).

By the way driver seat is on left side unlike Aussie or Malaysia.

We took a taxi from our hotel to Huaqiangbei about 30 mins. I guess it depend the traffic. It cost us about RMB$40 at the beginning, and when we wanna back to our hotel it only cost us about RMB$25 -___-' now we know we got RIPPED OFF!!!

Once you saw a lot tall buildings and with electrics names or big brands name everywhere and very crowd street.

You will know you reached Huaqiangbei District. At the beginning it was really hard for us because we don't know where to begin!!!!!????? for shopping?

Seriously, you can find any brands or anything, I means ANYTHING!!! and you will shop till you blind~~~~~

Seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.......... I told you! My 1st is impression was like "(o__O___o')WOW,...

But, a lot places photography is prohibited. So, on this entries you wont see a lot photos.

Seriously, we can spend whole day at here for shopping and the great thing is they opened till very late.

Let me remember you one thing, be extra careful with come to bargaining if you really really like to buy it. It better do all research and compare the prices with other stores because it can be difference as much as $1000.

For example, we have been looking Canon 50D with 18mm-200mm, the cheaper price we got offer was RMB$8000 + KITs and the most expensive price we get is RMB$9000 with no kits. WTF!!!???

Well, at the end we didnt buy it because of warranty. Again we also heard from some ppl if wanna buy camera better go to HK and you can get even CHEAPER then that.

So, now you know how rip off they are if you are clueless about the market price and product itself.

However, it was quite fun because you could see a lot funny stuffs that you never saw before in other country. Even a lot different kind of brand for computers & mobiles. That is sooooooo China.

We did bought a lot cute stuffs as souvenirs for friends & family members which I didn't take photos of it. Otherwise it wouldn't be a surprise ahhahh.

By the way, at that time I also not feeling because of hot weather and I get diarrhea too. Whole day while "hunting" for camera, I need to find toilets every 3-4 hours. I feeling really bad for Ray because he have to wait for me and it make the whole day so inconvenience.

Goshhhhh,....what a day and when come to lunch time. omg -_-" I`m really feel dont wanna eat any foods because probably will end up in toilet bowl . Lucky, I always carry medicine for diarrhea in my bag for "emergency".

So, when you came to ShenZhen, Huaqiangbei (华强北) is a MUST visit!!! okay keep that in mind and also always bring some medicine with you all the time.

ShenZhen - Fairy Lake Botanical Garden

Just saw the name "Fairy Lake Botanical Garden" I already fall in love~~

Actually, compared to Knight Valley I really reallllllllllllly enjoy this place!!! I highly recommended to everyone wanna visit when come to ShenZhen.

I only know a little about the history that , there a fairy come to earth and swim at lake. Some kind of legend story. Well, since I cant read Chinese it was very hard for me to learn more about the legend.

Entrance fee is RMB $ 20 person. eheheh I`m so looking forward to explore this place! :D

By the way, I believe some of you think I`m a shopaholic as I mentioned earlier my "mission" come to ShenZhen is Shopping!

Well,.......your guys are WRONG! Besides shopping, I actually love watch scenery and of course take some random photographs.

It would be lovely to see some trees, flowers, plants and breath some fresh air to clear your mind especially living and working at city for sure gonna sick of it.

Also, really need to bring mom go for "exercise" . I found it once people get old most of them forgot how to enjoy life and look after health instead worried too much about our young generation.

okay, this place to see some garden with a lot lot butterfly.

ohhh you little cutie, plz stay still while I`m taking photo of u! you gonna be famous! ~*cough*cough*cough*~

Okay,..next Hong Fa Temple

For your information, I`m Buddhist ehheh as for Ray & Mommy are Christian.

So, they waited outside the temple while I have a quick tour around the temple and had some pray for blessing since I`m fly all the way from Australia to Malaysia and to this places, it would be a waste opportunity if I don't.

Outside, the temple there some flowers available for sale and provided joss stick for offering and of course you can donated some money for good causes. ;D

Finally I`m on the top!. There a lot Buddhist halls and had my pray.

You know what????? since I moved to Australia, I actually forgot how to pray, so I have to holding joss stick and obsessed what other ppl do LOL and just followed them.

Of course photography is prohibited.

I have to "curi-curi" act fast to snapped.

In there some more halls with difference gods or guardians.

It sure does remind me my childhood when I still used to followed my parents go to temple every weekend.

Okay,.....MOM~ if you read this blog, I wanna let you know, although I`m adult now and you always said I had changed into difference person, there some part in my heart still remain the "same". :)

Front view from temple. That is "China" map.

Okay,...one thing I love about this places, there always a mini- shuttle bus available for you to travel places to places.

So, you can choice to walk or get on bus to reach next destinations.

You know what?? it was fun on mini- shuttle bus because you can enjoy the scenery and the wind blow over you.

Well, some routes a like "snake" just like Australia`s Victoria - Great Ocean Roads"

Btw, I also sooooooo amazed with some people especially grandpa/grandma who ACTUALLY can walk all the way to top mountain and other destinations.

This places you could see a lot plants especially "Bonsai" and a lot lot turtles.

It was so quiet and sooooooooo peaceful. We actually spent sometime here for resting and enjoy the air and you could heard some insects "singing" LOLOL.

I really love this place.

Can you see Ray? ehehehh while I`m enjoy myself taking some "bonsai" photos.

My father-in laws definitely love to have all this bonsai.

Okay, I`m not gonna upload all bonsai pictures which I believe you guys wont be interested.

Hehehehhe,..mommy tired liew~~

Now, I really wish buy a DSLR camera now!!! to capture nice shots! T_T. Okay,..gonna save $$$$ from now on!

These are not some bunch of "botak" trees or cut half-way.

It is Petrified Wood a.k.a wood turn into stone a. k. a Wood fossil

How`s cool is that!!!! our mother-nature.

This picture above it show how old the wood,..I think million years or what. I cant remember what Ray told before. So, I just took the picture for those can read Chinese.

You also can touch it. How amazing just looking at the color. Just like color of stone.

I felt the woods it was damn hard.

how`s shining~~till you can see the reflection. There also available rest place which they using Petrified Wood making into chair & tables.

Also, from what I heard. this place is the largest collection of petrified woods in world or China.

Next, we went to Museum to see more fossil and you need to pay entry fees RMB$50 person.

Dinosaur - it was so hard to took the whole picture.

more dinosaur -tulang-tulang LOLOL

So, many different kind shape of dinasour eggs.

Someone loves to be eaten~~~

In the pictures it seem look small but it actual size it was freaking big like computer o.O'.

Next is LUNCH TIME!!.....after visited so many places of course we all starving.

So, we took mini-shuttle bus back to temple because there a vegetarian restaurant which just next to temple.

Makan time!!! cant wait for it.

heheh just look at picture, you guys can till how hungry we are.

Againnnnnnnn,..I`m having trouble read menu bcoz -Chinese. T_T. But, no problem because I can always ask the waitress for recommendation dishes ehehehh.

Btw, I still can speak Chinese fluently ( Malaysian-Chinese version) hahahah.

Must try this one!!! err forgot the name. Something like "Chicken wrapped Paper" and deep fried.

I know I know,.."chicken" word but is true they called it "chicken something" because it just taste like chicken meat.

and it was sooooooooo oily. Never mind since we sweat like a pig after visited so many places.

It was made many thin layer of tofu skin. This dish was made with highly skills chef.

Overall, we really enjoy our meals and the customer service is way BETTER then city ShenZhen, the staffs are friendly and helpful and smoke-free zone! YAAAAAA.

Finally, found I felt be served like a customer.

After finish our lunch we continues our next destination - The Lake!

Some zodiac statues.

To be honestly, we actually skipped a lot places because don't really have much time and our mommy is getting tired.

For example,

Some place like this...

Obviously it was really far.

Same as this pagoda which I have to Zoom my camera to capture it.

Now,..I really really wish have better camera!!!!

Another restaurant which near Fairy Lake.

Fairy Bridge, which I also need to Zoom really far to capture it.

The following is map of Fairy Lake Botanical Garden. If you interested you always can google for more information about.

We really enjoy this places and wish more time to explore all the places.

I think during the spring or autumn session it would be great for walk at Fairy Lake compare summer. As for winter it might be too cold for that and this place suitable for old people and family with kids have some quality time.

Also, you can bring some Chinese chess/games board and some for foods for picnic. Of course, enjoy cup of chinese tea while sitting on lake side. How`s lovely is that.
