Today, we headed to city and went to Shark Fin Inn restaurant which near Chinatown for yam cha. It was recommended by my friend and I also done a bit research about it.
It was amazing that, so many people started to queued in front the restaurant which the yam cha will start at 11am sharp!. We also one of them which we are 10 minutes early. We were so lucky and manage get a table because we didnt make reservation so, we only limited to 1 hour for yamcha. -______-"
I know 1 hour is tooooooooo short, how we can possible try all the delicious foods!!!. However, if we dont take it, there more or anyone willing to take the table. So, we dont have a choice since we woke up early in the morning and drove all the way down to city which we had been planned since last week.
Almost 50% are Ang moh instead chinese people have yamcha. O.o'' Is totally booked and we even move up to 2nd level......2nd LEVEL!!!, I swear to god I never saw something like this. Like having FREE yamcha!
It was a new experience to us because when I was at Sydney, we never bother to make booking because it always available and can get a table in not time (btw way cheaper more!!!!). So, next time better be smart & more organize.
Regarding the food quality is pretty okay. Yaaaaaaaaa... just "O.K".
As for the service, I can say it was excellence! Because once you be seated, the staff will non- stop offering you foods and they are DAMN speeeeeeeeedy! They even kept pour tea for you! We never got chance to "touch" the teapot. hahahh
Regarding the pricing, I think a bit expensive still affordable. Basically, from what you see on the above pictures plus couples small dishes and tea cost us AUS$40.50 -_____-"
It was kind of rush, and we wasnt fully enjoy the yamcha due to the 1 hour limit. We were like, once seated, keep ordering the foods before too late. Keep ate...ate....ate....fastttttttttt!!. I was desperate to taste they "Dan Tart"/egg tart because I heard it was pretty famous. So, must try it before move my butt. >_<"
Anyway,...we definitely will be back and it was great place for yamcha with family & friends overall.
Checkout they official website and they has 4 branches around Victoria.
